18-year-old shot dead in Champs Fleurs

Police are probing the murder of an 18-year-old in Champs Fleurs yesterday.

Officers said at 6.30 am, a woman received information from a taxi driver about her nephew.

The woman went to Mt D’or Road, where she found her nephew Kelon Tannis dead.

The teen was discovered in a concrete shed opposite Oliver Trace with gunshot wounds to the head and about the body.

Police said Tannis, of Upper Spring Valley Road, was last seen alive at his home on Wednesday at 1 pm.

A motive is yet to be determined.

And a 49-year-old man from Malick, Barataria, who was shot on Wednesday morning, succumbed to his injuries yesterday.

Police said Emerine Harewood, of Upper 6th Avenue, Malick, was employed with the National Maintenance Training and Security Company.

A report stated that at 6 am Wednesday, loud explosions were heard at Upper 6th Avenue.

When officers arrived they saw Harewood lying on the road. He had been shot multiple times.

He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where he died while being treated.
