Five shot near school in Morvant, child hurt

Police are on the scene of a shooting in Morvant where a child was injured.

From initial information, the incident took place at 8am at a learning centre off Coconut Drive.

Residents heard a series of explosions and took cover.

In the aftermath, four adults and one child were found bleeding from injuries.

The police and emergency health services were notified and officers of the North Eastern Division responded.

The injured parties were taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex for treatment.
