The XXI visit of the Sacred Canvas of Our Lady of the Rosary Virgin of Chiquinquirá de Aregue has been full of parishioners who come to it with devotion.

Monsignor Carlos Enrique Curiel Herrera, bishop of the Diocese of Carora, explained that the Virgin of Chiquinquirá “is the honor of our people because she shows us the face of Mother, Father and a Gospel of good news, confident that we have a project of salvation ”.

Monsignor Curiel asked the Mother of God to grant all Venezuelans the wisdom to know how to discern and position themselves in this time, always responding with Gospel criteria to discover Jesus along the way.

At a press conference, Monsignor Curiel reported on the 18th March of Faith, which will take place on Saturday, October 5. This pilgrimage is the most popular in the Torres municipality, where hundreds of faithful accompany the Sacred Canvas of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá de Aregue from Carora to her Sanctuary located in the town of Aregue, Chiquinquirá parish.

The priest asked everyone to make the pilgrimage an expression of walking together.

The priest Ernesto Camacho, rector of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá de Aregue, stated that the pilgrimage will depart from the San José de Calasanz parish at 4:00 in the morning, and will travel through the avenues Francisco de Miranda, February 14 and Pedro León Torres, and then take the road that leads to the town of Aregue.

The priest Camacho mentioned that a stop is planned in front of the Cecotorres facilities, where a piper group and the residents of the La Greda and La Guzmana 3 sectors traditionally wait for the Virgin. With fireworks and songs they will thank the Mother of God for her visit to Carora.

The priest also stated that this year the traditional marathon will be held on Friday, October 4 at 4:00 in the afternoon. It will depart from the monument of the Virgin, located in Carora, and will reach the town of Aregue.

He reported that the welcome Eucharist will be celebrated on October 5 at 10:30 in the morning in the sanctuary. It will be presided over by Monsignor Carlos Curiel.

For the central day, that is, Sunday, October 6, the Eucharist will be presided over by Monsignor Polito Rodríguez, archbishop of Barquisimeto, “in this way reinforcing the ties between provinces, this being a sign of Synodality,” said Father Ernesto.

He indicated that the Eucharist on Sunday at night will be celebrated by the Fathers. Mario Piñango and Freddy Meléndez, both priests of the diocesan clergy and natives of the town of Aregue. The seminarians of this local church will participate in this Holy Mass, whose intention will be vocations.

Both Monsignor Curiel and Father Ernesto Camacho asked the devotees of the Morena Virgin to attend the activity as pilgrims of faith.
