The clattering and slapping of police officers is over.

Diosdado Hair, Minister of the Interior and Justice, said on Thursday that “under no circumstances” will rattling and clapping be allowed in the Bolivarian National Police and other police agencies in Venezuela.

«When people see a police officer on the street, who stopped on a corner, a checkpoint, a patrol car, they feel that they are safe. Under no circumstances can we from the Bolivarian National Police or from any police force allow the luxury of noise”, said.

Cabello, during his participation in a Chavista forum, also warned that he “does not want to see” officials protecting commercial establishments on any tour.

«They have insulted our police forces, they have messed with our police forces. There must be a very clear response, with authority, with respect for human rights, but firmly. No one should disrespect a police officer on the street. No one can come to slap an official on the street. The mess is over here in Venezuela,” he said.

Diosdado Cabello: The rattle and the chapeo “demoralize” the police

In his speech, the minister stated that These actions “demoralize” officials and “distort” the character of police agencies. He also announced that he asked Nicolás Maduro to pay greater attention to security agents in general.

«The president very much agrees and in the coming days we will begin to see some things in our police forces for attention and staff. “We must find a way for those who are in our police to feel that they are part of them,” he stated.

Diosdado Cabello also acknowledged that the police have made mistakes but, even so, assured that they have moved forward on the “right path” by supposedly correcting those failures.

“And probably We will continue to make some mistakes, we will continue to make some logical flaws, but today the Bolivarian National Police and the police forces become an instrument of our people,” he assured.
