Brandon Barclay, a phone and computer technician succumbed to his injuries while being treated in the operating theatre at the San Fernando General Hospital on Saturday around 1:30 pm. He had been shot five times.
Police were told that two men in a white Nissan B14 dropped Barclay at the Couva District Health Facility around 6 am and then left.
Investigators tried to speak to Barclay but he was not responding.
He was then transferred to San Fernando General Hospital for further medical attention.
At the hospital, investigators spoke with a relative, who informed them that he got information that Barclay may have been shot while liming at Paria’s Bar and Lounge in Claxton Bay. Investigators spoke to employees and other people at the bar but they were unaware of any shooting incident at the establishment.
Police inquiries, however, revealed that around 9 pm on Friday, Barclay left his home to go to lime at the bar and was seen there around 10 pm. Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 3 are investigating.
