Bangalore: Fortinet has announced that it is on track to meet its goal of training 1 million individuals in cybersecurity by 2026, having already trained over half a million. This pledge is part of its broader effort to address the global shortage of cybersecurity professionals.

A key focus of Fortinet’s initiative is its Training Institute, which offers various training programs and certifications to bridge the skills gap. The company has also formed partnerships with organizations like the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and EduSkills Foundation, aiming to provide 100,000 virtual internships in India.

Fortinet’s 2024 Global Cybersecurity Skills Gap Report highlights that 70% of organizations believe the shortage of skilled professionals increases security risks. Fortinet’s ongoing initiatives, including partnerships with academic institutions and government bodies, are aimed at building a skilled and diverse cybersecurity workforce.

In Europe, Fortinet has committed to offering free cybersecurity training to 75,000 individuals over three years as part of the European Commission’s Cybersecurity Skills Academy. Fortinet’s programs are designed to enhance cyber resilience globally.
