Seven minors detained after elections in Venezuela will be tried without benefits
A group of seven minors detained in the context of protests against the controversial re-election of Nicolás Maduro in the July 28 elections, will be tried, after being presented on Wednesday at a preliminary hearing in the state of Carabobo, “without any procedural benefit”NGOs and the majority opposition denounced this Thursday.
According to the organization Justicia, Encuentro y Perdón (JEP), which monitors six of the seven cases, the teenagers, despite the fact that “they declared themselves innocent, were accused of the crimes of terrorism and incitement to hatred”, after which “they were ordered trial” and will not have “any procedural benefit.”

«We urge the authorities of the justice system to review these cases, enforcing guarantees of due process and respect for their human rights.
