Unimet rises 15 places in academic reputation

With outstanding results in the indicators of academic reputation, reputation among employers and number of professors with PhDs, the Metropolitan UniversityUnimet, was ranked 122 in the South American region among 437 study houses from 23 countries, in the QS Latin American & The Caribbean Ranking 2025 by the British consulting firm Quacquarelli Symonds, designed to provide a deeper insight into institutional performance in this region.

Compared to last year, Unimet gained 15 places in academic reputation, 6 places in employer reputation and 8 in the indicator of academics with PhDs, which shows the quality of the training of this staff, who has reached the highest level of training in their field. area of ​​specialization.

Unimet ranked fourth in employability

There was also a significant increase in the impact on the web where the university shows the effectiveness with which it uses new technologies, academic publications and international research networks. This indicator assesses the richness and diversity of an institution’s international research partnerships.

On a national scale, Unimet was ranked fourth in employability among the nine Venezuelan universities that appeared in this ranking. This assessment demonstrates that Unimet graduates high-achieving professionals, with entrepreneurial capacity, innovative, high-income and socially responsible, who generate actions that change the world. This category brings together the opinions of employers about the institutions that provide the best professionals.

The QS Rankingwhich is based on indicators, It weighs academic reputation first (30%), Designed to assess the perception of academics around the world about institutions that demonstrate academic excellence, followed by reputation among employers (20%), it measures the reputation of institutions and their programs with employer opinions on a global scale.

Likewise, it measures the impact of international research networks (10%), research resulting from citations per publication (10%) and scientific publications by academics (5%), the latter two indexed by Scopus, which combines unique, an exhaustive database of abstracts and citations, produced by experts, with enriched data and linked academic literature from various disciplines. It also assesses the proportion of professors per student (10%) and proportion of academics with PhDs (10%). The index is completed by measuring the Web impact (5%).

“Students choose us for excellence in academic quality, for the comprehensive training they receive, for the unique unimethane profile that we offer, and for the positive assessment that employers have of our graduates both locally and internationally,” said the academic vice-rector, Natalia Castañón.
