Consumer Affairs Division launches National Consumer Profile Study

  • Oct, Fri, 2024

The Consumer Affairs Division (CAD) of the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) has launched the National Consumer Profile Study (CPS) in collaboration with Market Facts & Opinions (2000) Ltd. (MFO). This national survey aims to gather a comprehensive profile of consumers in Trinidad and Tobago to better understand their needs and consumption trends.

The study will inform policies and legislation designed to protect consumer interests and empower consumers through education. This initiative aligns with the National Development Strategy (Vision 2030), which aims to establish modern legal and regulatory systems for the protection and service of citizens.

The survey will run for six weeks and consist of telephone, face-to-face, and online interviews. The online component will be accessible via links on the MFO, CAD, and MTI Facebook and LinkedIn pages from October 28 to December 6, 2024.

The CAD encourages public participation and cooperation with MFO survey staff. The findings will help create a profile that addresses current consumer concerns and ultimately boosts consumer confidence.

For further information or inquiries, individuals can contact MFO at 627-8417 or via email at mfo@mfocaribbean.com. Alternatively, they can reach the CAD through its toll-free hotline at 800-4CPS (4277), via email at consumeraffairs@gov.tt, or by messaging the CAD’s Facebook page.
