ON Wednesday, the executive members of Netball Trinidad and Tobago (NTT) met with representatives from the Ministry of Education (MoE), including the chief education officer, the head of the sport and development unit of SporTT, as well as the president of the Trinidad and Tobago Secondary Schools Netball Association (TTSSNA).

The purpose of the meeting was to address the ongoing impasse between NTT and TTSSNA, which arose after the NTT substantially raised the affiliation fees for schools participating in TTSNA competitions.

The meeting successfully resolved issues including the sanctioning of the TTSSNA, allowing the commencement of the 2024 Secondary Schools Netball Association League competition.

“We are pleased to report that the meeting was both cordial and productive,” NTT stated via a media release, “TTSSNA has fulfilled part of their outstanding obligations and has committed to completing the remainder in due course.

“In light of this, and as an act of good faith, NTT has agreed in principle to officially sanction the 2024 Secondary Schools Netball League competition,” the release added.
