KINGSTON, Jamaica – Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey’s highly anticipated return to the Reggae Boyz lineup has been delayed due to an injury setback.

Bailey, who hasn’t played for Jamaica since last November due to suspension and a self-taken hiatus from the national team was ruled out of selection due to injury.

It means the 27-year-old will miss the upcoming games against Nicaragua on October 10 and Honduras on October 14.

Head coach Steve McClaren says Bailey was disappointed to miss out on the squad but needs time to fully recover.

Bailey missed the September international window after picking up a hamstring injury during Aston Villa’s match against Leicester on September 5.

Another notable absence is striker Shamar Nicholson, who requested time to get back to full fitness after missing out on a proper preseason with Russian club Spartak Moscow.
