First Justice will reinforce international complaints against Maduro

The National Political Committee of Primero Justicia (PJ) unanimously decided to reject the persecution and repression against leaders and militants; as well as reinforce complaints in international bodies against Nicolás Maduro for state terrorism.

“(It) was agreed to reinforce complaints in international bodies against the deprivation of liberty and systematic judicialization as part of state terrorism applied by Maduro to all those who assumed the responsibility of respecting the results of July 28,” reads a brief statement from the political party in social networks.

First Justice referred to the arbitrary detention of several leaders in Zulia, including the mayor of Maracaibo Rafael Ramírez and Pedro Guanipa.

He reported that throughout the country “manifests the state of fear” that the Maduro administration intends to impose to subdue, persecute and paralyze the opposition.

“Primero Justicia made the commitment to make every effort to achieve the release of all political prisoners, as well as the support of the families of the victims who today suffer this regrettable injustice,” the organization added.

On Wednesday, the Maracaibo Mayor’s Office denounced the arrest of Rafael Ramírez Colina “without any justification or explanation,” for which he demanded his immediate release.

The mayor’s office, which also confirmed the arrest this Tuesday of other officials, called for respect for the institutions and physical spaces of municipal public powers, as well as for the “protection of each of the more than 8,000 public servants” of the city.
