Mexican Eder Frayre won the fifth and final stage of the Tobago International Cycling Classic (TICC), yesterday’s 120km Tour of Tobago, to repeat as the overall champion of the event.

“It is very important (retaining my title),” the Heatwave cyclist said after the race. “It is my last race of the season and I had a tough year with crashes and I could not be at my best.”

Frayre continued: “But now after a big break and reset, I trained very hard. I am very happy to be here and to win this competition.” The Tour of Tobago started and ended at the Milford Esplanade in Scarborough.

Meanwhile, Trinidad and Tobago’s Jadian Neaves (Raiders) won the Division Two race, yesterday. The 18-year-old from Chaguanas said everything went according to plan.
