Several communities in the states of Monagas, Sucre and Nueva Esparta were affected by the heavy rain during the last few dayswhich caused river overflows and flooding.

The state channel VTV reported the overflowing of the Arenas and Oro rivers in Sucre, which It left 28 homes affected, in addition to the collapse of a pedestrian walkway.

Likewise, in Monagas, two classrooms at a school were flooded and some roads had to be closed due to falling trees and accumulation of debris on the road.

The mayor of the Arismendi municipality, in Nueva Esparta, Alí ​​Romero Farías, reported through Instagram that there was no “regrettable” damage in this area “thanks to preventive work,” while reporting that in the Sierra community “the roads “They have been left full of rubble.”

“After a few very rainy days (…) we have taken a tour with the Civil Protection team and the citizen security directorate to evaluate the conditions of the river channels and the conditions of the different sectors of the municipality,” he said.
