the ULA approved budget balance

  • Oct, Wed, 2024

Only 21% of the budget requested for 2025 by the University of Los Andes has been assigned, which generated the approval under protest of the University Council of that house of higher education.

To aggravate the situation, only a part of what is approved is received, which affects the activity of the university, as it cannot cover the minimum expenses, explained Víctor Molina, Budget Director of the ULA.

Molina pointed out that In 2024, only 17% of what was requested was assigned, and of that amount only 3% has been received.

The lack of resources worsens the financial situation of the ULA, which makes it impossible to offer conditions that make it easier for students to continue their studies, such as dining service and special aid, among other benefits, which allowed the professional training of so many other students who today are professionals.
