HIGHLIGHTS FROM TODAY’S SHOW:
A mother and her 1-year-old baby girl were found murdered at a house in Barrackpore on Tuesday 8th October, 2024.
• The deceased were identified as 35-year-old Tara Ramsaroop and her 1-year-old daughter Jada Motilal.
• Shortly after 11:00am, Tara was at the home along Location Road, off Rochard Road, Barrackpore with her daughter and her estranged husband 30-year-old Rishi Motilal, when they got into an argument.
• Moments later, Tara’s nude body was discovered on a bed alongside her daughter with their throats slit.
• A relative subsequently notified the police and the responding officers made their way to a nearby primary school where Ramsaroop’s eight-year-old son was, after they got intelligence that the suspect was on his way to take the boy out of classes.
• The suspect was apprehended by the officers while on his way to the child’s school.
• A search was also conducted at the crime scene and the cutlass used to murder the mother and daughter was recovered inside the house.
• Prior to the incident, it is alleged that the suspect, made several threats to end the life of Tara and their children.
Following the brutal double murder, Motilal’s vehicle was discovered completely burnt in the Barrackpore area.
