Zair Mundaray points out errors in the summons to Edmundo González

Former prosecutor Zair Mundaray denounced several irregularities in the summons issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Officedirected by Tarek William Saab, for former presidential candidate Edmundo González Urrutia.

Zair Mundaray pointed out that the prosecutor was improvising, when he summoned Edmundo González without specifying his capacity to prosecute, that is, whether he was called as a witness or as an accused of a crime.

“President-elect Edmundo González cannot know if he is accused or a witness, because they intend to interview him, which is not possible in the case of the accused; because he only makes a statement if he wishes to do so in accordance with article 49.5 of the Constitution,” the former prosecutor published in X this Saturday, August 24th.

Another inconsistency is that the citation does not specify facts and dates, said Mundaray. He warned that the document is confusing and does not explain what it refers to. “There are two clear violations of due process”he stressed.

“The prosecutor who signs it includes himself in the chain of command of the crime against humanity of persecution. Now, if he refers to the post-electoral events, none of these events constitute any crime, except for the CNE (all its members) and the Electoral Chamber, who have materialized a coup d’état,” he added.

For Mundaray, Tarek William Saab is following Maduro’s orders with the persecution of opposition leaders. He warned officials that if they follow him, “They go with him to the pit of history”. He said that most people are ashamed of the attorney general.

The summons asks Edmundo González to appear on Monday, August 26 at 10:00 am on the 15th floor of the Centro Villamil building, in Parque Carabobo, Caracas.
