85 new incidents regarding Venezuela are reported to the ICC Prosecutor’s Office

Lawyer Orlando Viera-Blanco reported that this Thursday, October 10, they recorded before the office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), led by Karim Khan, 85 new incidents regarding human rights violations committed in Venezuela in recent months.

«We especially include the crimes of detention, imprisonment, cruel treatment and torture of our boys and girls, the testimonies of their mothers, as well as political leaders, innocent Venezuelans imprisoned in serious health conditions, describing the judicial and police chains of command. , military and administrative,” he reported in a video published on social networks.

Viera-Blanco also indicated that today met at the headquarters of the International Criminal Court in The Hague with the Office of Victim Participation and Reparation of the ICC to exchange relevant information with their representatives. This with the objective of promoting and contributing to the advancement of the Venezuela Situation I process.

“Information that serves to enlighten judges in determining facts,” he indicated.

In total, there are 920 incidents of human rights violations in Venezuela reported to the ICC Prosecutor’s Office in the last two months.

The president of the El Amparo Foundation and general director of the International Committee Against Impunity in Venezuela (Ciciven), Walter Márquez, requested procedural speed in the investigation of the Venezuela I casefor crimes against humanity and life imprisonment against Nicolás Maduro, during his visit on September 12 to the International Criminal Court (ICC), based in The Hague.

On that occasion, the human rights defender also held a meeting at the Office of Victims Participation and Reparation in which he talked about the rights of victims in Venezuela and the process that is being carried out in the ICC Prosecutor’s Office.

He established contact with the office directed by Paulina Massidda, head of the Office of Public Defense of Victims, in which he submitted a document ratifying and expanding information on the crimes against humanity committed on the border with Colombia.
