Víctor de Aldama, the alleged achiever of the Koldo case, asked for thousands of dollars in cash Jorge Giménez, president of the Venezuelan Football Federation and close to vice president Delcy Rodríguez, according to reports from the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard.

On May 12, 2020, Víctor de Aldama contacted Jorge Giménez to ask for money and mentioned the need to “feed the machine.”

Investigators indicate that Aldama, owner of Zamora FC, was involved in the supply of masks at that time. For this, he would have allegedly received 6.6 million euros in commissions.

In the conversation, Aldama expressed his concern about delays in payments from the Venezuelan government, although he was confident that he would receive the money and insisted on the urgency of obtaining it.

«I am clear that he is going to pay me, but You know how the government works to pay you. I have no doubt that they pay, but the machine needs oil, you know better than anyone,” Aldama would have told the Venezuelan.

Giménez, for his part, He assured him that he was trying to get the money and, in turn, asked him about the “boss”, apparently referring to former minister José Luis Ábalos.

Five days later, on May 17, Aldama again insisted to Giménez about handing over the money.

However, it was on June 18, 2020 when, according to the UCO report, the president of the Venezuelan Football Federation He provided Aldama with $80,000 in Spain.

The Independent highlights that the relationship between Víctor de Aldama and Jorge Giménez is not limited to the Koldo case.

In August 2019, both businessmen closed an agreement between Zamora CF and Deportivo Lara, a first division team in Venezuela.

The agreement included the transfer of a Venezuelan under-23 player to the Spanish club. As part of the recognition, Aldama gave a Zamora CF shirt to Giménez in gratitude for his collaboration.

Furthermore, Aldama was a key figure in the arrival of Delcy Rodríguez to Spain in January 2020.

According to him, he was in charge of managing the invitation letter, signed by Ábalos, and organized an agenda for the vice president of Nicolás Maduro, although the plan was achieved by the sanctions that prevented him from entering the Schengen area.

Aldama was present at the Barajas airport the night Rodríguez’s plane landed, accompanied by Giménez and other members of his team.
