Venezuela sends almost 14 tons of humanitarian aid to Lebanon and Syria

Venezuela sent nearly 14 tons of humanitarian aid to the Lebanon and Syria, collected this week at the collection center activated last Monday.

This is done in solidarity with the people of the Middle East, in the face of the “systematic genocide perpetrated” by Israel, the Venezuelan government reported this Saturday.

This is the first shipment of aid gathered at the collection center located at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Caracas.

Humanitarian aid is mainly made up of food, medicine and supplies, according to an official note.

The objective is “to try to alleviate a little the suffering of the people who are being massacred,” explained the vice chancellor for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh, from the ‘Simón Bolívar’ Maiquetía International Airport, which serves Caracas.

The official, cited in the note of the Chancellerydescribed this shipment as a “sample of the determined union of Venezuela with the Arab peoples in the face of the continued massacre of the Zionist State of Israel.”

On the other hand, the vice chancellor for Latin America, Rander Peña, reported a “world day” of protest for peace in Palestine and Lebanon, as well as against the “terrorism and genocide of the State of Israel”, without offering further details. details of this demonstration.

More than two weeks ago, the Israeli Army launched an offensive with a relentless bombing campaign against southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.

According to the balance provided this Saturday by the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health, at least 26 people died and another 144 were injured in the last day due to Israeli attacks in different points in Lebanon.
