Police detain 3 in connection with threat to Commissioner of Prisons

Three people were arrested on Sunday in Northeastern Settlement, Sangre Grande, for threatening Commissioner of Prisons, Carlos Corraspe.

The arrests followed intelligence that led police to execute warrants at the homes of suspected members of a gang in the area. 

The operation was coordinated by DCP Martin and Snr Supt Pacheco, head of the Eastern Division, involving officers from the Eastern Division Gang and Intelligence Unit (EDGIU) under Cpl Maharaj, the IATF under Sgt Gent, and the GEB under Cpl Pacheco.

The suspects are currently detained at the Sangre Grande Police Station.

Investigations by the EDGIU are ongoing.
