Man arrested for theft of shipping container

One man has been arrested and a shipping container was recovered during an operation in the Northern Division on October 13.

Between 7 pm and 10 pm on Sunday, officers from the Arima and Freeport Criminal Investigations Departments (CID) conducted an intelligence-led exercise.

According to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, after receiving information a team of officers proceeded to Beaucarro Village, Carapichaima, where they searched the area and discovered a 20 x 8-foot white metal container, reported stolen in the Arima district between October 9 and 13.

A 20-year-old man from Beaucarro Village, Carapichaima, was arrested in connection with the discovery.

This operation was led by ACP Singh, W/Snr Supt Maynard-Wilson, and Supt Guelmo, and coordinated by ASP Pitt, Asp Dematos, Insp Mascall, and Sgt Haynes.

Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
