Early morning quake rattles T&T

The UWI Seismic Research Centre (UWI SRC) has confirmed a 3.8 magnitude earthquake struck near Port of Spain just before 5am today.

According to initial data from the UWI SRC, the minor quake at 4:57am was 70 km, NW
Port of Spain, 91 km, NW Arima and 104 km, SSW St George’s, Grenada.

The UWI SRC’s computer algorithms put the seismic event at Latitude 11.13N and Longitude 61.94W, with a depth of 10 km.

The UWI SRC said, however, that the data is subject to potential revisions pending evaluation by its analysts.
