Protest in Caracas: Public sector workers demand decent wages

The crisis in Venezuela It is evident at different levels and the Public sector workers are among the most affectedtherefore this October 16 They decided to hold a protest in Plaza Caracas to demand decent wages and respect for their rights.

“For one bone, for one bone only my salary is enough!”was one of the slogans of the protesters who have been protesting since early morning with banners in hand with different messages. «Together for a living wage«, «I am a teacher and I am still fighting, a decent salary now«, «No to the extermination of old Venezuelans and the working class» are other of them.

The workers, mostly from the health and education sectorthey shout slogans asking for job benefits. Also, they demand payment of outstanding debts and a decent bonus. The same way, They urged the State to respond to their requests.

The government preaches about equality, but what we workers suffer is inequality.”said Carlos Julio Rivera, representative of the Association of Retirees and Pensioners of Social Security.
