Andrés Pastrana warns of plans against María Corina Machado

Andrés Pastrana, former president of Colombia, warned that the changes in the military leadership of the government of Nicolás Maduro announced this week aim to achieve the capture of opposition leader María Corina Machadeither.

During the IX Presidential Dialogue, organized by the IDEA Group in Miami to talk about Venezuela, Pastrana pointed out that Machado is a threat to the Maduro government, which is why they want to achieve his capture.

“A few days ago there were some changes in the military leadership in Venezuela (…) this change only has one objective and one purpose, which is the capture of María Corina Machado, who is the figure that Diosdado Cabello wants to eliminate,” he said.

“Yesterday Diosdado Cabello said on his program that he is going after María Corina Machado, that he is going to capture her and judge her,” he added.

Cabello offered a press conference on Thursday where he reported on the capture of a group of alleged mercenaries who, according to him, entered the country with the intention of assassinating leaders, and linked the United States, Spain and María Corina Machado with these alleged plans. .

Andrés Pastrana attacks Gustavo Petro

Andres Pastrana accused the current Colombian president, Gustavo Petro, of playing the role of “chancellor” for Nicolás Maduro.

“What Petro is doing is delaying the recognition (of Edmundo González). Petro is Maduro’s chancellor, because Maduro gives shelter to the FARC, the ELN and drug trafficking,” he said.

Pastrana pointed out that Petro collaborates with Maduro, who, according to him, protects guerrilla groups and drug traffickers.

“Maduro is the ally of the FARC, and the Cartel of the Suns is linked to the drug trafficking cartels in Colombia, so we cannot expect much from Petro,” he commented in relation to Petro’s position regarding the electoral situation in Venezuela. .
