Man critical after nightclub beating
A night out for a Penal man and his wife turned sour when a nightclub bouncer attacked him on Saturday morning.
The incident at the La Romain nightclub left 33-year-old Nicolas Boodoo in a critical condition at the San Fernando General Hospital.
Police said Boodoo, his wife and friends were at the club when around 4 am, the male bouncer informed them the club was about to close. Witnesses told investigators that they were about to leave when the bouncer struck Boodoo several times on his body, causing him to fall unconscious.
The group contacted police and when Cpl Huggins and a San Fernando patrol responded, Boodoo was still unconscious at the scene. The officers were able to get useful information from several people, but when they looked for the alleged suspect, they could not find him.
Boodoo’s wife took him to the hospital, where he remained up to yesterday.
In another incident, medical staff had to sedate a Siparia man after someone stabbed him seven times.
A police report stated that three men in a van pulled in at the Siparia District Health Facility at 9.15 pm Saturday and dropped the victim, Edward “Dogman” Allsop, of Sennon Village. He had several stab wounds on his neck, abdomen, and chest.
The men stated that they found him at the side of the road near Rampy’s Bar and left without sharing personal details. After receiving emergency treatment, an ambulance took him to the San Fernando General Hospital, where he remained in a critical but stable condition up to yesterday.
Cpl Bernard and PC Banahar of the Siparia CID attempted to get a statement from Allsop, but he was heavily sedated. —Kevon Felmine
