Edmundo González suffers setback in Spain

  • Oct, Sat, 2024

Opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia was taken to a hospital in Spain after suffering an injury to his left arm, a “misstep” that led him to use a sling, a bandage used to support an injured arm.

Edmundo González said and celebrated that the doctor who treated him in the hospital, without planning it, was Venezuelan.

“A stumble took me to the hospital. “You will be treated by one of the best doctors”they told me at the entrance. The young doctor arrived. He was a fellow Venezuelan! Not only did I feel proud of the recognition from his colleagues, I was also moved to think that the talent of my countryman was exiled like millions, like me,” González wrote on the platform x.

He shared a photo in the publication in which he can see the sling in place, which serves as support and keeps his left arm motionless, in order to speed up recovery.

He added: «My commitment is that Venezuelan talent returns and supports us in the reconstruction of Venezuela. Today with my sling – which was what caused me to stumble – I thank the hospital for the attention and appreciation of our exiled doctors. “He who falls… gets up!”

At the moment, few details are known about the incident that took Edmundo González to the hospital.
