Unidentified man found dead in Tunapuna

Police are trying to identify the body of a man that was found in Tunapuna this morning.

Police said around 2:45 am, residents of Achong Trace reported hearing a series of loud explosions.

Upon making checks they found a man lying on his back in a pool of blood.

He appeared to have been shot several times about the body.

The police were notified and a team of officers led by Sgt Ragbir responded.

The deceased is said to be a man of mixed descent, slim built, light brown in complexion, approximately 6 ft. tall, approximately mid-30s, clad in a blue and white jacket, black track pants, a pair of red, white and black sneakers on both feet with a black and brown book bag on his back.

Several spent shells were found near the body.

Residents of the area declined to cooperate with police this morning.

Investigators are expected to return to the scene.
