Officers have seized narcotics, ammunition, and recovered a stolen vehicle during exercises.

The TTPS said between 4 pm and 8 pm on 19th October 2024, a team of officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Canine Unit conducted an exercise in the Central Division. During the operation, warrants were executed at the homes of two people of interest in the Crown Trace and Chrissie Trace areas. Although nothing was found at the residences, officers continued searching the surrounding areas.

In a bushy area in Mano Trace, Crown Trace, Enterprise, they discovered a black bag containing 14 rounds of 5.56 ammunition. Additionally, in a busy area of Chrissie Trace, Lendore Village, Chaguanas, officers found a black plastic bag containing 842 grammes of cannabis, a packet with 2 grammes of cocaine, and another packet containing 34 grammes of ecstasy pills. The items were seized, and PC Karmody is continuing enquiries.

This exercise was led by Snr Supt Maharaj, Supt Spence, and ASP Simon, and coordinated by Insp Steele. Additionally, between 10 am and 2:45 pm, while conducting exercises in the Port of Spain area, Cpl Omadath, PC Lewis, and PC Kuraj of the IATF received information that led them to Minachy Alley, East Dry River. There, they recovered a silver Toyota Aqua that had been reported stolen earlier in the day from the Cunupia district.

The vehicle was conveyed to Besson Street Police Station, and PC Gaskin is continuing enquiries.
