They captured a boa constrictor snake in Naguanagua

A Boa Constrictor snake, also known as a tragavenado, at least two meters in length, was captured this Sunday by a Civil Protection commission and the Naguanagua Rescue Brigade Foundation after its sighting in the Mañongo urbanization, in the state of Carabobo.

The rescuers arrived at the scene – after being notified by neighbors – to verify the species and make the capture.

The foundation reported on Instagram that The snake had a superficial wound, so it was transferred to the Valencia Aquarium. There they would undergo a specialized evaluation for subsequent relocation.

What to do in the case of sighting of animals of this type?

Rescuer Jacobo Vidarte recalled that in the case of a sighting of this type, the ideal is to call specialized agencies and avoid approaching or trying to capture the animal.

In addition, it made the following recommendations:

.- The habit of killing animals is highly dangerous for human life on the planet.
.- Avoid getting close to the species.
.- A short video (3 to 5 seconds) will be useful for a team of experts to be able to evaluate and 𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙢 𝙖𝙧 the conditions of the animal.
.- If it is a snake, many 𝙣𝙤 are poisonous and 𝙩𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙨 are important for nature.
.- If the animal, whatever it may be, left a natural area, it would be ideal to treat, 𝙙𝙞𝙤𝙨 𝙨𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙨, try to get them to return to their spaces. Remember that dogs and cats in urban areas could cause animals to become frightened, divided, or attacked by them.
.- Every sighting or encounter should be notified to the authorities, in this way we as citizens guarantee a report that, in the short or medium term, could help in a fauna population study, for example.
.- Each species requires certain specific capture and transfer techniques, advice should always be given for these maneuvers.
.- As neighbors, try to meet with the Environmental Nursery and the MINEC so that they confirm the contact numbers and the authorized areas to take captured animals and the protocols for sighting each species.
