The People’s National Movement (PNM) is remembering Nileung Hypolite, who passed away over the weekend following a battle with cancer.

“It is with great sorrow we express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and all those who were affected by the loss of Mr. Nileung Hypolite,” the PNM said in a media release. They highlighted Hypolite’s commitment to his constituency, particularly in education, youth development, and community empowerment.

Hypolite was remembered as being an advocate for the residents of Laventille West, working to improve their standard of living.

Beyond his role as a parliamentarian he was also involved in numerous community organisations. The PNM noted, “His support for local initiatives, including youth programmes and environmental protection efforts, demonstrated his commitment to uplifting the community.”

The PNM said, “His dedication to his constituents garnered admiration from colleagues and citizens alike. He was a true champion for his constituents, a model representative whose legacy will inspire future generations of public servants.”

The PNM recognised Mr. Hypolite’s service in the House of Representatives, saying, “His dedication to public service and commitment to the wellbeing of his community serve as a testament to his character.”
