Today’s Highlights:
A total of six (6) murders were recorded in the country within the last 24 hours.
• Two (2) of the murders took place in the central division, one (1) in the northern division, one (1) in the Port of Spain division and two (2) in the North Eastern Division.
20-year-old Gerald Clarke of Jonathan Trace, Cunupia was shot and killed at Thomas Avenue off Lamont Street in Longdenville early on Thursday 24th October, 2024.
23-year-old Antoinio Craig of Independence Avenue, Bourg Mulatresse, San Juan died after he was shot at the corner of 2nd Street and Saddle Road in San Juan on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024.
44-year-old Omari Mc Carty aka Blacka of Building 7, West Maloney Gardens, D’Abadie succumbed to his injuries at the hospital after he was shot on the second floor of Building 8 in Maloney Gardens on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024.
22-year-old Tyrese Ogiste of Mustapha Lane, El Socorro, and Jojo Lane, El Socorro was fatally shot near his home on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024.
A Venezuelan national identified as 22-year-old Diego Gregorio Alves Machado of Orangefield Road, Carapichaima was shot and killed near “Charles Essentials” opposite Lion’s Drive, Orange Field Road, Carapichaima on Wednesday 23rd October, 2024.
42-year-old Kwesi Wadada of Gloster Lodge Road, Belmont was shot and killed while driving along the Rudolph Charles Link Road that connects Gonzales and Laventille on Wednesday 23rd October 2024.
Raegan from Rudolph Charles Link Road was captured stealing at three different business places in San Juan, St Augustine and Arima.
An elderly woman was heard screaming “don’t kill me! Oh god, no,” during a home invasion in Diamond Vale, Diego Martin on Monday 21st October 2024.
The same suspects who were involved in the attempted murder of WPC Quianna Mahabir outside her Hydraulic Trace Caroni home and a robbery at Classic Midway Bar in Tacarigua on Tuesday 22nd October 2024, were also seen following a woman in Diego Martin in an attempt to carjack her.
T&TEC workers staged an early morning protest on Wrightson Road in Port of Spain on Thursday 24th October 2024.
The Brighton sports club in La Brea was partially destroyed by fire on Tuesday 22nd October 2024.
• The building, which was not occupied, was seen ablaze around 10.30 a.m.
Two (2) maxis transporting school children collided along the Claude Noel highway in Tobago on Monday 21st October 2024.
A member of the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard accidentally shot himself in his chest on Friday 18th October, 2024.
A man who was reported missing in early August was actually murdered and his family is upset.
• 22-year-old Jubreel Charles of D’Abadie, Arima, was last seen on 4th August 2024 at his fruit stall in Arima.
• His relatives went to the Arima police station and reported him missing.
• On Monday, 5th August 2024, an unidentified man was found with gunshot injuries at Unity Lane in Carapo, Arima.
• The victim’s body was removed from the scene and stored at a funeral home in Arima until Tuesday, 8th October 2024, when the body was taken to the forensic sciences center.
• The body was fingerprinted, and police were able to identify the victim as Charles.
• His body decomposed while in a chiller at the funeral home over the past two months.
• The victim’s relatives are upset that the police could have fingerprinted and identified him much earlier instead of doing such 2 months later, a relative told us earlier.
• Now, they are forced to have a closed-casket funeral service for Charles.
