Man goes in shop for 6 minutes, money stolen from car
A Cascade man who left $6,072 in cash in a pencil case in his glove compartment, quickly stopped to buy something in a shop but realised the money was missing when he returned.
Guardian Media understands the 31-year-old parked his white Toyota Hilux at a popular eatery on Long Circular Road around 2 pm on August 16. He left the truck’s doors unlocked and went into the establishment. When he returned at 2:06 pm, he discovered the glove compartment open and the cash gone.
Police conducted interviews and requested CCTV footage from nearby businesses and homes. They did not find any usable fingerprints on the truck.
Investigations continue.
