Trinidad and Tobago has named Dwight Yorke head coach of its men’s national team.

The former Manchester United and Aston Villa star led the Soca Warriors to the only World Cup in their history, captaining the team in 2006 in Germany.

Now, the 52-year-old returns as Trinidad and Tobago looks to reach the 2026 World Cup in North America.

“I am proud and privileged to receive the honor of leading the Trinidad and Tobago national team,” Yorke said in a statement from the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA). “The opportunity to work with this talented, close-knit group of players is something I look forward to.
