Diosdado Cabello, first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), announced this Monday that The Chavista Parliament will begin the corresponding process to remove and replace the Principal Rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE) Juan Carlos Delpinowho denounced the lack of transparency and veracity of the results of the presidential elections of July 28.

“A man with the last name Delpino, who is the principal rector, has left office. He left office and the procedures provided for in the Constitution and the law will be applied to him. It is up to the National Assembly, we are taking advantage of the fact that our president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, is here, because it is up to him to appoint and remove him,” Cabello said at a PSUV press conference.

Cabello, who said that Delpino had abandoned his post and had been missing for a month, also suggested that the Moral Power get involved in the process to remove the CNE rector.
