National Security Minister: Heavy Law Enforcement Presence To Prevent Protests

Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, says a heavy law enforcement presence will be used to prevent a repeat of protests and rioting which unfolded in Port of Spain on Monday.

In response to a question posed by MP for Oropouche East Dr. Roodal Moonilal about the Ministry’s preventative measures, Minister Hinds said while the incident and resolutions are not new, the solutions will be immediate.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Minister Hinds denied the incidents proved the failure of the Police Service’s intelligence services.
