Opposition leaders have celebrated the releases of several political prisoners this Saturday, but at the same time they emphasize the need for all those detained for political reasons to be released.

Delsa Solórzano, president of Encuentro Ciudadano and main prosecutor of the Command With Venezuela, highlighted that there are approximately 2,000 political prisoners in the country. «None of them should be behind bars.. “Everyone deserves freedom.”

«We are glad that some are being released and can finally hug their families. But, this does not erase the pain of what was suffered, much less the fact of the unjust imprisonment. There will be justice in Venezuela when there is not a single more political prisoner“Solórzano wrote in x.

The opposition Henrique Capriles expressed that none of the political prisoners should have been detained. He assured that the relatives fought for their release. He demanded full freedom for all.

«There are still many detainees for the sole reason of being opponents. There are not only 225, there are around 2,000 that must be released. We must continue to be the voice of those who remain behind bars, going through the most difficult moments of their lives,” Capriles said.

For his part, former deputy Juan Pablo Guanipa said: “They should not have spent a minute in detention for defending the popular sovereignty expressed on July 28. We continue fighting for the liberation of all«.

What happened this Saturday with the political prisoners?

Venezuelan organizations and the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners reported this Saturday that the releases of political prisoners, detained after the protests following the presidential elections on July 28, continue in several penitentiary centers in the north of the country.

The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners stated in X that In the Aragua state penitentiary known as Tocorón, 14 people have been releasedand many others in the prison called Tocuyito, in the state of Carabobo, which are added to the 10 who had been released from the San Francisco de Yare prison, in the state of Miranda (north), this Saturday morning.

The Venezuelan Prison Observatory (OVP) confirmed X releases from the La Crisálida Training Center for Female Prosecuted Women, in the state of Miranda, without specifying a figure.
