Sinkhole repaired! Uriah Butler Highway now fully accessible

The Ministry of Works and Transport says it has repaired—ahead of schedule—the sinkhole on the southbound lane of the Uriah Butler Highway, near Grand Bazaar.

In a Facebook post the Ministry said the road is now fully accessible.

Last week, a sinkhole appeared in the area, damaging vehicles as unsuspecting drivers drove over it.

Videos shared on social media showed good Samaritans trying to alert drivers initially until the Ministry stepped in the next morning to close the road and begin repairs.

The road was closed on Friday and Saturday to allow for the re-construction works.
