HDC: Issues resolved at Corinth Hills Housing Development

  • Nov, Fri, 2024

The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) says it has noted the concerns of tenants residing at the Corinth Hills Housing Development, San Fernando, who have highlighted damaged ceilings and complained of garbage collection delays.

The HDC says it dispatched a team to the site on Friday to investigate reports of collapsed ceilings.

Upon arrival, the team observed three apartments with damaged ceilings and began repairs.

“It must be noted that no complaints were made to the HDC regarding the ceilings. However, the HDC wishes to use this opportunity to encourage rental customers to download its Rent Café application (app) to log issues with their rental units,” the HDC said in a statement.

The statement said that garbage was collected at Corinth Hills on Thursday and that before that time, staff from the HDC visited the Development on Tuesday and Wednesday to collect the garbage at the site.

With regards to sanitisation, the statement said that the HDC teams have begun cutting the grass in the community and have sanitised the areas around the garbage receptacles, and surrounding areas in the community, to prevent the infestation of rats and other rodents.

The HDC said it will inform the residents of possible delays beforehand to ensure they are updated on all matters affecting their community and that the HDC is assessing its current waste management systems to prevent future disruptions, including potential investments in infrastructure and workforce.

The HDC said it deeply regrets any inconvenience these issues have caused the residents at Corinth Hills.
