Journalists are prohibited from entering the hospital in Maturín
The National Union of Press Workers (SNTP) denounced on Friday that the director of the Dr. Manuel Nuñez Tovar hospital, in Maturín, Monagas state, prohibited entry of journalists and media to the health center facilities.
The director’s order, according to a statement from his office, also released by the SNTP, was given on November 13.
All staff, including heads of services, departments, supervisors and nursing coordinators, were strictly prohibited from providing any type of information to the patients. means without prior authorization.
“It is completely prohibited for journalists to access any of the facilities of this health center, and to provide any type of information regarding its services without having proper authorization,” reads the hospital statement shared by the SNTP.
The letter is signed by Dr. Juan Carlos Gomez, director of the university hospital.
