The Vente Venezuela party requested this Sunday that safe passage be issued “as soon as possible” for the six anti-Chavistas asylum in the residence of the Argentine embassy in Caracas -guarded by Brazil-, who denounced since Saturday night a police “siege” that continues – they said – until today.
Through a statement, he denounced that the diplomatic headquarters “remains without electricity and surrounded by regime vehicles that prevent traffic in the place.”
Likewise, it reported a “blocking of communication signals to prevent the situation from being reported from the site while drones were used to fly over the protected areas of the residence.”
“This repeated action constitutes a clear violation of the international conventions on asylum and diplomacy signed by the Venezuelan State, as well as an attack on the rights of the politically persecuted,” he said.
On Saturday night, Pedro Urruchurtu – International Coordinator of Vente Venezuela (VV) and one of the asylum seekers – denounced that “hooded” agents with “long weapons” from the Directorate of Strategic and Tactical Actions (DAET) of the Bolivarian National Police ( PNB) “surround the diplomatic headquarters and block street access.”

Siege of the Argentine embassy
Last September, after several asylum seekers denounced another police “siege” at the Argentine diplomatic residence, opposition leader MarĂa Corina Machado asked the “democratic nations” to make “the pertinent arrangements” for the issuance of safe passage for refugees.
In August, Brazil assumed the representation of Argentina in Venezuela, after the expulsion of Argentine diplomats that same month, but the Government of Venezuela revoked this authorization in September due to the alleged planning of terrorist acts inside the headquarters by the isolated opponents.
After the measure, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry indicated that “it will remain with the custody and defense of the interests” of Argentina until the southern country “designates another acceptable State” for the Executive of Nicolás Maduro, in order to carry out those functions. .
The six opponents took refuge in March after the Prosecutor’s Office accused them of several crimes, such as conspiracy and treason, among others.
In addition to Urruchurtu, there is also Magalli Meda, who was the campaign manager for the presidential elections; Claudia Macero, VV Communications Coordinator; Omar González, former deputy; Humberto Villalobos, electoral coordinator of the VV Campaign Command, and former minister Fernando MartĂnez Mottola, advisor to the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD), the main opposition bloc.
