United States officials visited the Simón Bolívar bridge
A delegation of officials from the United States Embassy in Colombia visited the Simón Bolívar International Bridgeon the Colombian border with Venezuela.
The purpose of the tour of the US officials, who were accompanied by Colombian Immigration agents, was to learn about the migration mechanisms of this border.

Venezuelans leave through Colombia to reach the United States
Around 3,000 Venezuelans, most of them without an exit stamp, either because their passport has expired or because they have never processed it due to the high cost it represents, cross the Simón Bolívar, Francisco de Paula Santander, Atanasio Girardot international bridges daily. and Union.
A large part of these Venezuelans have the goal of reaching the United Statesusing the dangerous Darién jungle as a bridge to reach Panama, continue through Central America, and finally reach the northern border of Mexico.
More than 200,000 Venezuelans have crossed the intricate jungle so far this year, being the nationality that uses this dangerous step the most, followed by Colombians with more than 16,000. They are followed by Ecuadorians (15,000), followed by Chinese (12,000), Haitians (11,000) and other countries (31,000).
