They arrested a Cicpc detective for providing information to the Jeison Comino gang

Génesis Nazareth López Martínez, detective of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), was detained by officials of the same organization after determining that provided classified information to members of Jeison Comino’s gangan organization that is responsible for committing the crimes of extortion, kidnapping, robbery, homicide and trafficking of psychotropic substances and narcotics in Greater Caracas.

Douglas Rico, national director of the organization, reported on social networks that López Martínez took advantage of his rank and knowledge within the police institution to maintain constant communication with members of the highly dangerous Jeison Comino gang. The young woman, 23 years oldhad been in the institution for eight months and was stationed in the Las Tejerías municipal delegation, Aragua state.

López Martínez was granted an arrest warrant for treason, obstruction of the administration of justice, aggravated criminal association and terrorism, before the Second Special Court of First Instance in Control Functions with Jurisdiction in Cases Related to Associated Crimes to Terrorism with National Jurisdiction and Competence to hear and decide on crimes associated with Corruption and Organized Crime.

«Detention that is carried out with full knowledge of the 69th Prosecutor’s Office with National Competence of the Public Ministry. The Cicpc rejects these acts and informs about the importance of purging officials who violate the laws, putting at risk the security and peace of citizens, and in turn, the image of the institution,” Rico added in the publication.
