Police investigating report of kidnapping in Tobago

Police are investigating the kidnapping of a 69-year-old man in Tobago.

The incident took place aroun 9:35 pm on Thursday night along Mt Thomas Main Road.

The victim told investigators that he was walking along the roadway when a vehicle pulled up next to him.

Three masked men exited the car and began assaulting him.

They then placed a bandana over the victim’s face, tied up his hands, and threw him into the backseat of the car, then drove off. 

When the vehicle stopped and the bandanna was removed, the victim realized he had been taken to the Les Coteaux Waterfall Road.

The men threatened the victim, leaving him tied up, and warned him not to move. 

The suspects then drove off.

The victim was able to free himself and sought assistance.

The police were notified and a team of officers led by W-Cpl Cesar responded and are continuing enquiries.

The victim was advised to seek medical treatment for any injuries sustained during the ordeal.
