Government’s First Mandate And Priority Is The People Of Trinidad And Tobago



Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, says there is no difference between the Prime Minister’s position on the issue of the Venezuela Migration Registration Process and his.

In a statement on Saturday, Minister Young reiterated that Trinidad and Tobago continues to respect its international treaty obligations but at the end of the day, this Government’s first mandate and its first priority are to the people of Trinidad and Tobago.

On Friday, Minister Young said: “The Registration Centres can only take a certain number of persons on a daily basis so what they will be doing is trying to manage that process. No one is going to be turned away.”

Referring to a newspaper article on Saturday, Minister Young said it was made to believe that the no one would be turned away at the borders. He said that’s not the case.

He said no one will be turned away from the Registration Centres.
