Repatriation Efforts Continue
While thousands of Trinidad and Tobago Nationals have been repatriated, Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, said 6,900 persons are still asking to come home, and are currently awaiting exemptions.
He said Government has increased the repatriation effort over the last few weeks. They have also increased the number of persons on planes, booking flights to full capacity.
He added that testing of persons will continue when persons arrive in the country, in keeping with its exemption criteria, adding that more will be done to facilitate the returnees.
Minister Young said Government will take more steps as it relates to the country’s borders in due time.
