TT Borders Will Stay Closed

Government is defending its decision to close T&T’s international borders as a measure to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, reiterated that people who return to the country through international airports pose a risk to the entire country. He advised citizens outside of Trinidad and Tobago to take shelter where they are, focus on self preservation, and reach out to T&T’s Embassies and Consulates.

The National Security Minister revealed that 33 citizens currently in quarantine in Barbados are exploring their legal options in an effort to be allowed to come home.
