All schools opened on schedule today, Education Ministry says
The Ministry of Education says all ECCE, Primary, and Secondary schools reopened today, for the 2025 academic year.
However, there is a partial return at St George’s College due to ongoing repairs. The Ministry reports that minor repacking is still ongoing in the staff room, art room, and a few speciality rooms.
The Ministry says orientation for Forms 1 and 2 will take place over the next two days. It notes that the school is fully prepared to welcome students from the other Forms.
The Ministry reports that there will be a rotation at Holy Name Convent, Penal due to ongoing roof repairs. It says Forms 2 and 3 will rotate attendance for the next two weeks, while all other Forms are expected to attend school as scheduled.
The Education Ministry says the annual budgetary allocation for emergency repairs was exceeded because of the volume of repairs required at schools.
