TT Defence Force Personnel Leave For SVG
Fifty members of the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force left for St. Vincent and the Grenadines this morning to offer physical support to those on that island, in light of the La Soufrière volcano eruption.
National Security Minister Stuart Young, during an early morning press conference, addressed the team just before they took to the seas for their humanitarian trip.
Minister Young said in the first instance, they will be staying for two weeks.
Relief supplies were donated by private citizens, corporate and religious organisations.
Members of the Defence Force left aboard the Galleons Passage. They will be taking up food, water and other key essentials for distribution.
