C&W Communications, the operators of Flow, will broadcast live matches and other content from the 2024/2025 English Premier League (EPL) to fans throughout the Caribbean via ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Extra for the remainder of the season.

While live Premier League matches will be aired on the existing ESPN Caribbean and ESPN 2 channels, the newly launched, dedicated channel ESPN Extra will offer around six live matches per round, pre-match and post-match studio shows, press conferences, fantasy football segments, archive matches, and other programming.

ESPN Extra will be available free of charge up to September 15 and following the ‘Freeview’ period, customers can subscribe directly to the channel.

C&W Communications made the official announcement on Tuesday.

“We are thrilled to offer football fans across the Caribbean unprecedented access to one of the world’s most popular sports leagues,” said C&W Chief Executive Officer, Inge Smidts. “With ESPN Extra and the enhanced coverage across ESPN and ESPN 2, our customers will have front-row seats to experience the absolute best of the Premier League, right from their homes.”

The development follows the August 13 announcement by the region’s previous EPL broadcasters, VertiCast Media, that it would not be going forward as rights holders for year three of its original three-year deal with the EPL, just days before the league’s August 16 start date.

This followed widespread reports of blackouts and other issues experienced by customers on VertiCast’s CSport television channels and mobile app, dating back to February 2024, while CSport’s last aired EPL match was on May 3, 2024, two weeks before the last season ended.

VertiCast’s press statement read:

“After delivering the excitement of the Premier League to fans across the Caribbean, VertiCast Media’s term as the broadcast rights holder for the Premier League has concluded. We are proud to have made Premier League matches available regionally and, for the first time, to the widest possible audience through the CSport App, cable channels, and free-to-air television channels.”
